Incorporating
safe work practices into every job is vital in order to minimize
accidents, injuries and job interruptions. The company provides
job instructions, safety training and personal protective equipment
where necessary. However, employees must incorporate safety awareness
in their day-to-day work assignments for this instruction, training
and equipment to be effective. Although the key factor in accident
prevention rests with the first line supervisor, all employees
must work together as a team if the accident prevention program
is to be effective.
This information is provided as an aid to all employees in fulfilling
their responsibilities for job training as well as detection and
correction of unsafe conditions or unsafe work practices. The
information covers many, but by no means all, of the jobs and
situations encountered in field and plant operations, the office,
driving and the home. Where applicable, the procedures and practices
specified are in accordance with OSHA Regulations, Company requirements
(Engineering Specifications and Instruction Letters), API and
other safe work practices. Should situations arise which are not
adequately covered in this information or other instructions,
they should be brought to the attention of the immediate supervisors.
This information is to be used as an aid in job and safety instruction
and training but does not replace the need for supervision.
It should be noted that within TOTAL INSPECTION SERVICES occupational
safety and health is supported by all levels of management. The
Environmental Occupational Health and Safety policy statement
signed by the Principals indicates the emphasis placed on this
matter.
“NO JOB IS SO IMPORTANT
